How to install GApps in MIUI 9

MIUI 9 has been in the buzz a lot! With Xiaomi recently launching MIUI 9 well all know, the newer MIUI version comes on the China ROM and later on the Global ROM. Don’t know what’s China and Global ROM ? Here’s a link to an article explaining the same! Here’s a simple yet detailed review how to install GApps in MIUI 9.

So if you are eager to test out the newly MIUI 9, you need to run the China ROM which has it’s own big compromise. Google Play Services which are absent on the Chinese ROM since Google is blocked in China. So instead of waiting for the Global release, here’s how you can run Google Apps or GApps or Google Apps on your MIUI 9 China based Xiaomi device! Inshort, install Gapps in MIUI 9.

First, download this file on your PC attached here.

1)Now, unzip the File using WinRaR or any other unzipper.

2)Connect your Xiaomi device to your PC, and paste the Mi5GoogleBackup Folder in
MIUI/backup/AllBackup
Don’t worry if this is saying Mi5backup file, it will work fine on any Xiaomi device.

3)Navigate to Settings>Additional Settings>Local Backups.

4)Now select the December 12, 2016 File and click RESTORE.

5)Reboot your Xiaomi device.

Then it would ask you to sign in to your Google Account!

Sign in, and that’s it! You’re good to go.

That’s it, you have successfully installed GApps on China ROM of your Xiaomi device.
