Though the Intel NUC kits were very portable and powerful enough to handle any kind of workload with decent thermals but yet they lacked the inclusion of an dedicated GPU.
Yes they did support thunderbolt 3 via which one could connect external GPU enclosures. But the increase in GPU prices and overpriced GPU enclosures weren’t the best choice for an end consumer.
This year finally Intel has collaborated with AMD Radeon to manufacture a chip which includes and i7 quad core processor as well as Radeon RX Vega M GL graphics.
The main intention of this is to provide the users top of the line processing and graphical power to perform all the tasks easily.
Intel has redesigned the cooling system because of which the NUC is a little bulky but it has been equipped with all the necessary ports which one would ever need and it is also capable of handling VR.
The NUC doesn’t come with an SSD and RAM so the buyer has to purchase it separately based on their requirements.
There are 2 RAM slots available which is expandable upto 32 GB . Coming to the storage it can hold upto 2 M.2 NVME drives and has support for Intel Optane memory.
Aesthetically it looks clean due to the use of only black material and also has a backlit skull logo on the top which can be customized to the required colour or can be turned off.
Conclusion: If you want a super portable computer without any compromise on the performance and ready to spend few more bucks for the portability then this is the way to go.
Note: There are few other models which are expected to be released in the upcoming days so stay tuned to the site we will update with the links once it’s out.
