Google camera portrait mode mod ported for the Redmi Note 4 for MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat (android 7.0), if the device is based on Android Marshmallow with MIUI 9 then it’ll not work the device has to be on Android Nougat. Developer from XDA known “Scrubber (4pda)” put out the stable version of Google camera mod, which was not working earlier because of the API level of 25, so the developer modified the API level to 24. Everything now works without any hiccups. The portrait mode with HDR+ capabilities for both front and rear camera works flawlessly. Apart from the Slow-Motion videos.

  1. Camera2 API should be enabled.
  2. Clear the data of the previous GCam mod, otherwise you’ll get nothing but the blank screen
  3. Device needs to be on Android Nougat (Android 7.0)
