Ever since the spread of COVID-19 started we’ve been flooded with fake news. People need to know the truth behind this issue and Facebook is working towards this. The social media company recently revealed that they are banning ads that ‘guarantee a cure’ for the virus and are also trying to filter out fake news as much as possible. Facebook is also trying to send people to reputable sites in order to get some information on the situation.
Also, they have made a $20million donation and given WHO free ad space so that more and more people get informed about it.

Instagram, on the other hand, is using various unique ways to send out the message to the people. If you search for Corona Virus or COVID-19, you will be redirected to WHO’s official page so that you can get more information on the much more reliable source. Instagram has also started a new story tab for people who are using the ‘Stay Home’ sticker on their stories, encouraging people to stay home and stay safe.
This week we added a COVID-19 section to our Donation sticker so you can find related nonprofits more easily. We’re also making the sticker available in additional countries.❤️https://t.co/ftsBDk2PFM pic.twitter.com/EUlW1LUbKI

They are continuously supporting the government by providing masks and other protective gear.
