After the grand success of the Ryzen 1st generation processors finally AMD has launched their Ryzen 2nd generation processors in India.
The main highlight of this generation processors are that AMD has moved from 14nm to 12nm FinFET manufacturing process which means that these chips should be more power efficient.There aren’t much changes from the previous generation the cores and threads count remains the same. But what has changed are the included coolers.
There are four new processors launched – Ryzen 5 2600 & 2600X and Ryzen 7 2700 and 2700X. All the processor are unlocked and can be overclocked.
AMD has also introduced the new X470 chipset. Since AMD has guaranteed support for AM4 socket until 2020 hence these are compatible with the previous generation B350 and X370 platforms by just updating the BIOS before installation.
AMD has also highlighted few other features like the StoreMI which combines the speed of the SSD with the capacity of the hard drive into a single fast and easy to manage drive, SenseMI which use machine intelligence to accelerate performance and Ryzen Master Utility for easier overclocking of the processors.
