      How to use it

      1. Pick Road, Train or Metro.
      2. Type where you start, where you are going and when you leave.
      3. Pick what matters most, then tap Find the best side.

      Which way is left?

      1. Face the way you are travelling. Your left hand is the LEFT side.
      2. Trains: sides are as the train leaves your starting station.
      3. Metro: seats face across. The answer is the side whose windows get less sun.

      Reading the answer

      1. Tap another choice under What matters most? to see that answer at once.
      2. Open Through the trip and drag the slider to see any moment. The map marker follows.
      3. Leave at another time? shows the best side for other departure hours. Tap a row to check it.
      4. Return trip swaps the ends and keeps the same time. Share sends a link that works out this trip again.

      Send a route from Google Maps (Android)

      1. Install this page first (the Install button at the top). The share menu lists only installed apps.
      2. In Maps, get directions, tap Share (or ⋮ → Share directions) and pick Which Side.
      3. A route that starts from "Your location" starts from where your phone is.

      Keep Which Side at the front of the share menu

      1. Open any share menu and find Which Side (scroll along or tap More).
      2. Touch and hold it, then tap Pin. Xiaomi: Pin to top.

      Opens in a small floating window?

      1. OnePlus, OPPO, Realme: Settings → search Floating → Floating windows → turn off Share via floating window.
      2. Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO: Settings → search Floating windows → turn it off for Which Side, or drag the window to the top edge.
      3. Samsung: drag the window's top handle to the top of the screen, or tap the handle → full screen.

      Location

      1. When your phone asks, tap Allow and choose Precise. After that, From fills itself every time you open the page.
      2. Blocked it? Android: Chrome ⋮ → Site settings → Location → allow dhananjaytech.com. Installed app: touch and hold its icon → App info → Permissions → Location. iPhone: Settings → Safari → Location.
      3. Tap the location button next to From to update it, or type a place.

      Trains

      1. For exact timing, open More options and paste the station list with times (NTES, erail…).
      2. Engine turns round on the way (for example at Visakhapatnam)? Add that station as a stop under More options and tick reverses here.
      3. No timetable? Enter the journey time under More options.

      If something goes wrong

      1. "Could not expand this short link": open the link, copy the full web address and paste that instead.
      2. Place search slow or empty: the free search service is busy. Wait a few seconds and try again, or type the spot as two numbers, like 19.02, 72.84.
      3. No rain or wind shown: the date is more than 16 days away. The sun answer still works.
      4. Installed app looks old: close it fully and open it again. Updates arrive the next time it opens.
