Lenovo Phab 2 Plus launched in India at Rs. 14,999

After 4 months since its global launch, Lenovo finally brings the Phab 2 Plus to India. Better late than never holds good as the well-spec’d 6.4-inch phablet arrives with an aggressive price tag of Rs. 14,999. The Lenovo Phab 2 Plus will be available exclusively on Amazon from Nov 8, 2016.

The highlights of the Phab 2 Plus is its enormous 6.4-inch Full HD display, the dual 13 MP rear camera setup, and massive 4050 mAh battery. The phablet is made of aluminum alloy with curved 2.5 glass on the front. The specifications (except the camera setup) might seem like we are talking about the Xiaomi Mi Max but the Phab 2 Plus has more to offer.

Lenovo Phab 2 Plus is powered by the Octa-core MediaTek MT8783 processor which is coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The internal storage can be expanded via microSD card (upto 128GB) with help of the hybrid dual-SIM configuration. The Phab 2 Plus offers 4G LTE (with support for Indian bands), Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS connectivity options.

The phablet also comes with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Audio Capture 5.1 surround sound support. One of the first devices to offer this in the under Rs. 15,000 price range. Although unlike Samsung, Lenovo did not get stingy with on-board sensors. The Phab 2 Plus includes and accounts for G-Sensor, Proximity Sensor, L-Sensor, E-Compass, Gyroscope Hall Sensor.

Coming to the dual rear camera setup – the Phab 2 Plus bears two 13-megapixel cameras on the rear panel with and 1.34-micron pixels, powered by Fujitsu Milbeaut image signal processor. The rear setup is coupled with dual-LED Flash, PDAF, laser autofocus, and an f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone bears an 8-megapixel front camera with an f/2.2 aperture and 1.4-micron pixels.

The Phab 2 Plus comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is skinned with Lenovo’s Vibe UI. Though Lenovo has done a great deal to clean up the UI and make it fluidic, we feel the device would perform better with stock Android.

With good specifications and great price, the Lenovo Phab 2 Plus has easily become my favorite recommendation under Rs. 15,000 price range. However, with great specifications comes great expectations. How the Lenovo Phab 2 Plus performs in real life? Its too early to answer the most important question of all. We assure to be on our toes to bring you the complete coverage of the Lenovo Phab 2 Plus as soon as possible.
